I think there used to be a dry cleaners there run by a young Chinese lad called Arthur. Not sure if it was his shop or he just ran it though. I remember he once saved my bacon when I splashed something on a new silk dress I was going to wear for a wedding. My Mum rushed it down to the shop and they did a great job getting it out. Not sure of the dates though , thinking early 80s maybe.

Didnt Smiths own the Laundrette the answer to your question is yes there was one next to the Tesco and Franklins owned the travel shop i think that was next door and the D.I.Y shop further down.
