Realale
I was a regular at Samanthas all nighters.....I also knew a girl called Alex...would that be you? We would meet up in the Blue Bell in town....go onto the Crazy Daisy until one o'clock then move on to Sams. They where the best days ever. I also went to the Nether Edge club, many an under age drinking session I had in there......loads of us where under age if I remember rightly. I still love Northern Soul and still like to listen to it when ever I get the chance.

The DJ's at Samanathas.....Russ and a guy called Tim...can't for the life of me remember their second names. The Blue Bell, Crazy Daisey, Samanthas and later on Faces...........these where my own regular Sheffield places where I spent many a happy hour of my youth. I even have photos to prove it

I saw a pub called "the torch" in salou which had all the information on old northern soul venues.

santana
Does the Samanthas reunion feature Paul "The Ace" Richards spinning some of the ultra smooth classic sounds of Major Lance. Pity its not on mad Friday when some of the oldest swingers in town, the 50+ crowd could have given it ago. This after a few pints and raising the average age in All Bar One and Sylvesters
Grappler
I remember someone who's second names were "winstanley" and "sterling" or "serling". I saw a pub called "the torch" in salou which had all the information on old northern soul venues. Russ Winstanley was the original DJ at Wigan Casino from what I remember? Richard Serling used to have a Northern Soul and Motown show on Radio Hallam in the late 1970's. Chris King was another DJ who regularly played in Sheffield, I think he was from Bolton.
