If the Conservatives win the election how high will unemployment rise?

I'd much rather trust them than a bunch of labour hypocrites who spend their youth as socialists bleating about social justice and fairness then as soon as they get elected abandon their principles and stick their snouts in the trough !

You mean that Tory MPs have no principles to abandon anyway ? Sounds true to me. :hihi:

The main difference is that most Tory MPs were born to govern. They've had the right breeding and upbringing, have gone to decent schools and will have mixed with important people in industry and the financial sector throughout their lives.

Surely when employing people to run the country we should pick based upon ability, not birthright or pandering to social norms.

In a daft way you're right in that they're honest about their backgrounds and their beliefs. You don't hear Cameron waffling on about his working class background, he's quite open and honest about being an Old Etonian.

Compare that to Tony Blair who got caught out claiming to be a working class fan of Newcastle United when he said he remembered sitting in the Gallowgate End at St James' Park watching Jackie Milburn play.

This was impossible as Blair was four when Milburn's career finished, and the Gallowgate End did not have seats until the 1990s!

Older Tory MPs maybe, but there is a new breed rising through the ranks where the old silver spoon upbringing isn't present.

But people don't vote on ability, they vote on petty prejudices and the party the candidate represents. For example, most people acknowledge Vince Cable would be the most capable Chancellor yet he's no chance cos his party is unelectable.

Would you want The Queen to be democratically elected? :hihi:
