phphilz Posted June 28, 2005 Share Posted June 28, 2005 Coming soon, will be a Judo class for Children, running every Saturday at The Source Health Club (directly opposite Debenham’s Car Park) 300 Meadowhall Way. Sheffield S9 1EA A Black Belt Instructor in Judo shall carry out instruction, with the class fully insured Classes will split into 5 – 7 year olds 8 – upwards Adults (if demand is there) 5- 7 year olds For the smallest children, games will be used to introduce them to the sport; the smallest children will not be doing any throwing techniques. Safety and enjoyment is all important for this age group. Children will do the Groundwork (Holds etc, maybe a bit of groundwork wrestling and play games) as a starting off point. 8 - 14. Takedowns and throwing techniques shall be taught to the children in this class, the children will also be taught to breakfall (land safely). The Groundwork (holddowns, controlling the opponent) side of the sport will also be taught. Randori (sparring) will be introduced on both the throws of the sport and the groundwork. Again games shall be used to help the children develop fitness and enjoyment. Chokes, armlocks and strangles are not taught to this age group Adults (12 – 14 upwards) All aspects of Judo, Groundwork, Throws, Chokes, armlocks, Strangles, controlling your opponent, Groundwork and standing Randori (sparring), fitness and endurance training For details on the Judo, when it starts, or any further questions send me an email on phphilz@hotmail.com and I will send you more contact details Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
