EdnaKrabappe
Sheffield has more of a late bar culture for indie stuff at the moment. Depends what you want. Harley and its new sister bar, the Wick at both ends are great for live music, there's the Grapes and west street live which often have local bands on too. Also look out for stuff on at The shakespeare, pomona, red room, cremone and the stockroom. Casbah occasionally has some stuff on too. Not sure what else you like. Clubs are corp, leadmill, DQ and plug and academy has indie nights too. There are also nights at the union - offbeat is good for indie and there's the new fuzz club replacement let's go disko. I'm a bit out of touch with it all at the moment so sure there are more reliable sources of information.
Jared
west street live which often have local bands on too. . thanks for the plug edna, to elaborate further we have bands of all guitar based genres on seven nights a week every week of the year and to our knowledge we're the only venue in sheffield that does. We're also mainly a free entry venue with drinks starting at just a quid each.
