kenny.gray Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 we used to run for the school at a track on bawtry rd.were sheff.utd play cricket,it is i think still there it was red shale,also dont forget the cricket pitch at the lane.the sanderson kayser and tempered spring grounds on droppingwell lane,also shardlows at the back of the works,atlas and norfolk now utds.academy ground. shanes teeth Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 Sheffield PWD had a sports ground on Ecclesall Rd at Whirlow.There was a sports ground opposite the Grindstone at Crookes,Possibly the waterboard.And I've heard tell that many years ago they used to play football at Bramall Lane,but I can't imagine that being true! As kids we knew it as The Orchard. Who's sports ground was it / dates / any pics? ---------- Post added 23-01-2014 at 15:20 ---------- Also any info / pics on the football pitch behind Handsworth St Marys Church.
