Alcoblog
Ssshhhh! Don't let my girlfriend know!.. It's her birthday at the end of the month and I want to take her on a nice break to somewhere on the east coast (beach walks da..de..da) I want advice on where to go. It's got to be romantic- either a cottage or a really nice kind of pub type hotel . Any advice would be very much appreciated. Tried the internet but not very successfully
Tess
http://www.ravenhall.co.uk/page/home.html It's in between Scarborough and Whitby, pretty much on the seafront, and has some spectactular walks around the area. You can either go in the hotel, or hire a lodge. Very very nice.

mojo1
I can't recommend these enough. They've been fantastic with me and the two properties I've rented from them over the last couple of years have been stunning http://www.whitbyholidaycottages.net/

Alcoblog
Hey.. thanks everyone! Looked at all your suggestions. There are some really nice places . Whitby and Robin Hoods bay seem really nice . I love the strange light effect you get at Robin Hoods bay (don't know why it happens)
