will be creating a facebook event link soon and hopefully sorting out a specialist goth dj to play before, between and after the bands. The all dayer showcases a wide variety of differrents types of goth and industrial influenced acts

Ive just booked our tickets for the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra at Magna, I heard them a couple of years ago in Ranmoor and if they are half as good as they were then we will have a fantastic night. Anyone who has not heard a wind orchestra before they were really good AND THE KIDS UNDER 10 ARE FREE! See you there

Thanks for coming along again to support the YWO.

Its going to be a great evening for all the family with some well known tunes people will know and enjoy such as Danse Macrabre, Night on Bald Mountain, Sorcerers Apprentice, Harry Potter and more! £8 for adults, £6 for concessions and UNDER 10s FREE. Dont forget to dress up for your chance to win a prize (OPTIONAL).

Hi - Bring the kids to Magna. The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra (Charity 1057170)are performing the Spooktacular! in the scary face of steel at 7pm. Its family friendly, its good live wind orchestra music, lots of tunes you will recognise such as Harry Potter, Danse Macabre, Sorcerers Apprentice, Night on Bald Mountain, etc.

Theres even a fancy dress competition too if you dare to dress up and its only £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. Accompanied under 10s are FREE.

Check out http://www.yorkshirewinds.co.uk for more information - or for tickets see http://www.visitmagna.co.uk/spooktacular

More info on The Spooktacular!

The Spooktacular!

Set in Rotherham's old Templeborough Steel Works, Magna Science Adventure Centre is to become the setting for a spooky night of music that will chill you to your bones.

The Spooktacular! is to be a spine-tingling evening of spooky sounds with the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra. The performance is taking place in Magna’s scary Face of Steel at 7pm on Halloween, 31st October 2009.

Watch out for ghosts and ghouls as your ears board the Ghost Train, a musical journey on a driver-less night train bound for nowhere! Beware of the dance of death, Danse Macabre, better known to some as the theme to Jonathan Creek.

Spells and potions will be flying high with magic from Harry Potter and also the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, commonly recognized from Disney's family film Fantasia.

A Night on Bald Mountain, also used in Fantasia is the popular fantasy for orchestra, depicting the gruesome goings on during a Witches Sabbath. The rituals of magic, demonic rites and the conjuring up of evil spirits will continue with Incantation and Dance.

Amanda Woodhouse, orchestra manager commented "You are in for a real trick or treat this Halloween. The Spooktacular! promises lots for music lovers and anyone who wants to experience something different this Halloween. There will be extra activities for children during the concert, a fancy dress competition for those who dare to dress up and a few surprises too. Just remember to wrap up warm!"

Tickets are available now from the Magna Box Office online at http://www.visitmagna.co.uk/spooktacular priced £8/£6 concessions (10-16, OAPs and students). Accompanied under 10s will be admitted for FREE. Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
