breathless
Has anybody got these as I was thinking about it today since they are predicting a 60% increase in energy bills over the next few years. Do they cost a lot to install and do you think they are worth it?

Tradescanthia
You gotta be an optimist to use solar panels in this country !!!
Tony
A solar PV should return around 8% on your money at the moment. If you have cash it's probably a better bet than the building society. Wind turbines for 99% of domestic locations should come with a reminder to keep your money in your pocket.

navitas
we are way behind other countries in-terms of renewable energy, but the uk solar pv market has still grown 400% this year alone, if we are to meet the carbon reduction targets set in coppenhagen by 2020 we need to be installing 10,000 solar pv jobs a week, the feed in-tariff is a huge incentive for people to help towards this
discodown
If I could get a grant or something to install them i'd definately have them, the only thing preventing me at the moment is cost
YouFo666
Theres a company that was giving out leaflets in Crystal Peaks that offered FREE solar panels. I think your house needs to be south facing to qualify though..

Register your house here: http://www.ashadegreener.co.uk/ to see if you qualify, unfortunately the criteria is quite tight and we didn't qualify but it costs nothing to enquire.
