okismoki
When I was a young lad in the motor trade I used to collect parts from Freds at the back door of a shop on West st near the Saddle pub,Fred alwaysn made a cup of tea for me.When he died in the sixties his son Russ took over the business and expanded it considerably but it eventually went belly up. russ was a big bloke with a beard,he once came to the warehouse for something, and came to chat to us while we were helping a company from birkenhead load their lorry, one of the merseysiders mentioned being a little tired, and russ says "TIRED? what time did you get up at?" the fella says "7am,then straight here" so russ says "7am??? I,VE been up since 5.....LAMBING!!" At this point, the merseysiders all started laughing, and old hartley,s going "WHAT?WHAT? WHATS SO FUNNY??" but they wouldn`t tell him, anyway, when he got out of earshot, one of em says "Lads, your boss has just admitted he shags sheep",then explained that lambing means something different on merseyside, needless to say, word spread, and old russ became known as sheepshagger from that day on.
