leviathan13
The Fat Cat has a monthly folk night. It's quite good too, speaking as a rock/metal fan.

Guest
Opus puts Folk type stuff on sometimes (often in The Green Room) Fagans and The Dog and Partridge have an open music policy at the weekends. it depends what kind of folk you're after. leviathan13
You need to get on the folk train mate! I'm starting to get in to it a bit - mainly thanks to a local singer/song-writer/musician called Phil Hartley. I think the reason being that he's not just folk, so I'm not overwhelmed by it all in huge doses. But I'm getting better with it.
NEKRO138
I love it. Not just the straight up folk, but the folk inspired stuff that's on offer, such as Decemberists, Mumford and Sons and the punk singers doing some folk like Greg Graffin and Chuck Ragan. And by the folk train, I actually meant the folk train! It's great. Get on a train, listen to bands, get off the train, get in the boozer, get hammered, get back on the train, listen to more bands and get off! http://www.folktrain.org.uk/
