1908 Orphans in Sheffield.

In 1908 two ancestors of mine were left orphans in Sheffield.

Where would these two children ( boy 7years a girl 9 years) have been most likely placed? I know they were there for a few years.

Would appreciate any help.

It is so sad that these are the questions we never asked them while they were alive.

There were a number of orphanages dotted around the city, Margaret:- Fulwood, Sharrow, Firs Hill, Nether Edge, and Totley, to name but a few, as well as various convents and the like, which might have taken them in (particularly if the family were practising Catholics)

Hello Plain Talk,

Thank you for your response. I had no idea there were so many homes in Sheffield at that time.

Do you have any idea if there are still records on file to check names?
