Where to buy performance car parts?

Recommended Posts

If you do a bit of research. all a air filter will do its let more dust into engine, the oil use on filter will damage the afm and soon you will have a badly running car,

No point in having a air filter if there is no other mods as you will gain nothing but a farting noise

Do you think a car manufacturer would really design the filter to slow a car down? they put millions in designing the car

Good point, but you have to remember that all prodcuts are made to a budget. A replaceable paper filter not only costs less to produce than a freeflow one, it also needs replacing, hence more revenue for the manufacturer

A good, freeflow airfilter will allow the engine to produce more horsepower; not in all cases though.

There are plenty of rolling road printouts that prove this, google is your friend.

OP in the past I'd have recommended somewhere like Larkspeed, but they are no longer in Rotherham. To be honest I'd just get a K&N from ebay.

Be careful though as you also have to consider air intake temperature, so in some cases a filter that replaces the current airbox can actually reduce the power an engine makes.

I though it will be cheaper to make the air filter with bigger holes in filter then small(less material) why would it be more expensive to make?

indeed they do, but mine is a 1.6 lusso not the 3.2 gta an even the gta can be upgraded, would you say then that the origial paper filters factory fitted to the cars are the best you can get and allow the best airflow???

Loads of test been done on 'performance' filters 90% of the time it lose power:huh: and onlt highish tune engine will get a very small gain
