Where to buy performance car parts?

Recommended Posts

Alfa 147... Fancy giving me your front seats, they will fit nicely in my car :) as for performance air filter.. get K&N you wont get much better, it is abit pointless though mate if you haven't tuned it otherwise.

Any road, how is yours, being an Italian car? I have an Italian car and find it to be more nippy and has more BHP compared to most 1.2's of it's time!

It's 10 years old, and has 80BHP, for the purpose of this I will ignore it's age and how it puts it's torque down, but the new Astra and Focus 1.4 only have 10 BHP more.

I though it will be cheaper to make the air filter with bigger holes in filter then small(less material) why would it be more expensive to make?

I'm sorry, but I'm not quite understanding your point here.

Are you saying it would be cheaper to make a freeflow filter than it would a paper one?

If so I'm afraid you're wrong.

Apart from the obvious economies of scale factor, raw materials for the freeflow filter will also be more expensive.

My Impreza was rolling roaded at 396bhp recently and it uses the widely agreed best result of a standard filter box with a replacement K+N filter which gave the increase of ...... get ready for this ...... around 4bhp, so for a standard Alfa147 1.6 the benefits you would gain from fitting anything other than a standard filter would be at best negligible.

Best forget these so called 'performance' filters and just replace the standard one at the recommended intervals.

The best idea would be to use super unleaded petrol which fractionally improves the cars overall engine performance.

but if he gets 1 bhp from the filter on his alfa, its a big % gain as his is only a 1.6.

owlface no point trying to educated a spotty 18 year old who knows nothing about cars

Take it to john nobles on whittington moor ind est. and get some proper advice.. pay peanuts get monkeys ... pay real money with a reputable race performance specialist and get real results... ;)

Pretty sure nobles has been on Chatsworth Rd for the past 5/10 years now? Or did they split up as I'm pretty sure John Noble has nothing to do with the one on Chatsworth Rd now.
