beanpod
... and I'm sure the people buried in the grounds of the Methodist Chapel on Carver Street, would be happy to see it is now a 'Walkabout' Australian theme pub! They built decking on top of some of my family!
40summat
A lot of Christian churches were built upon pre-Christian places of worship, just look at it as recycling.

TeaFan
The London Jamme Masjid in Spitalfields, east London, started life in 1743 as a church for French migrant textile workers who were being persecuted in France. It was then used by a Christian group who tried to convert Jews to Christianity, before becoming a Methodist chapel in 1819. It then became the Machzike Adas Synagogue in 1897 and in 1975 became the Mosque. Stuff changes. People move. Religions wax and wane. Get over it. Ah yes, I was forgetting that there a few Muslim graves in Burngreave Cemetery as well. 'Mohammedan religion' it says on them. One was a miner in Beighton.
