santarp Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 I used to cycle from Hackenthorpe to Millhouses Lido for the joy of swimming in icy cold water and that was the summer months. I remember it as being very deep and a bit murky. No wonder they changed it . That was around 1960s. Later I took my own boys to visit and have rides on the paddle boats on the pond. One of them drowned in the then Millhouses swimming pool . . . Never went there personally but can remember the Sheffield Star pool photograph with ax ''X'' marks the spot ID . . . A tragedy . . .
