Nagel
Old fashioned hardware shops are great if you just want a screw or something Seriously, they are 1000 times better than a trip to B&Q if all you want is a can of paint, some nails, a hinge or whatever. You can spend ages wandering round a huge DIY warehouse looking for a few minor items and you'll never find anyone to help you. Walk into a little hardware shop and you get what you want straight away and friendly service too. You'll often spend less too as you can buy the number of screws you want rather than a sealed pack of 100. I use the excellent ironmongery at Bents Green or the DIY shop on Abbeydale Road just up from the junction with Broadfield Road. A trip to B&Q will take an hour of my time. A trip to either of those shops will use up 15 minutes at most.
