xfox3x
You seriously don't know how any of those, apart from one is personalised? No. Perhaps that's why I don't aspire to one . Unless I see one that says something like ERIC or MABEL they just don't mean anything......must admit though that I don't really look for them just sometimes see them around as I work round Fulwood area.... and it's wall to wall funny number plates there....usually on Range Rovers. I wouldn't mind an explanation of how A7 should make me think that it's the Queen's car (and the others too). Obviously my education or social skills are wanting! grafikhaus74
I saw one in Sheffield last year, an Audi TT with A13 ABE. The '3' was well dodgy and just about touching the '1' - A BABE. Unfortunately, when she got out she was a right, fat minger

Unfortunately, when she got out she was a right, fat minger A year or so back I saw a convertible Mercedez with the reg (something like) B4 ABE. In it was a rather stunning blonde lady. She parked outside my shop and walked to the business opposite: Pulse And Cocktails Sex Store. That got the old grey stuff thinking.
slacko
I wouldn't mind an explanation of how A7 should make me think that it's the Queen's car (and the others too). Obviously my education or social skills are wanting! When number plates were first issued, they started at "A1". This was issued on day one to Earl Russell. A7 is one of the first numbers ever released and therefor highly sought after and very highly valued. Like a prestigious address in Mayfair. A7 shouldn't be confused with the kind of plates that make a statement literally. The Queen is unlikely to have M4DGE is she? The fact she owns such a rare and historic mark is statement enough for those who know about such things. Anyone owning an "A" mark followed by 1, 2 or 3 digits, would be very unlikely to be concerned about your view of their class or status. These registrations are over 100 years old. Other Royals who own number plates with private marks do so because there is a significance to them, mostly along similar lines. I'm also pretty sure these people don't buy these things, along with racks of wine, jewels, historic cars, rare art, mansions etc, do it because they have a tiny penis. Pretty sure the Queen doesn't anyway.

xfox3x
Looks like slacko has called you there:hihi: I don't think so... :hihi:and at least I knew what pom bears are so I think we're pretty even on the knowledge front, we just specialise in different subjects. Essentially, the explanation proves that personal number plates are pretty stupid in that as long as it LOOKS like it means something I'm supposed to be impressed as they drive past me......well I'm not, but I have absolutely no problem if other people are. I don't imagine they would lose any sleep about my views on their class or status, (and to be honest, I wouldn't want them to - they're not worrying me)...they will be too busy basking in the adoration and envy of people who think a personalised number plate is something to aspire to. By the way, I have never mentioned anything about whether or not I think people should buy them, or any other of the luxuries you mention. I have also never mentioned anyone's penis (or lack of ) Edited November 13, 2009 by xfox3x
Leper
I find it strange that you see a number plate, as an example, which has the letters MMS with an explaination that they stand for Miss Mary Shephard, who other than cares ?.
