The West End-glossop road, launch party

I always class The West End as my first 'local', one I frequented between 1986 and 1988 (it seemed a lot longer back then).

Five deep at the bar on a Friday and Saturday night (I used to buy two pints at once because it took so long to get served), the upstairs bar which opened on weekends, Tetley and Tetley Mild on tap (Skol and Castlemaine being the others; also Lowenbrau) and the video jukebox which was quite expensive then. Always showing Madonna's Open Your Heart, Bangles' Walk Like An Egyptian and Huey Lewis and the News' Stuck With You.

It is one pub I would be sorry to see close down. Maybe you could charge for a pint what I paid when I first went there in 1986? Think a pint of bitter was about 68p?!!!!

I wish you well.
