FRIDAY 4TH DECEMBER

THE HARLEY

10PM-3AM

TAX: £3 (FREE B4 11!)

Rounding off the year on a massive high, we at Rough Disko are beyond psyched to be inviting Glasgow's lord of gutter music, Jackmaster to make his Steel City debut for our final date of 2009. A fixture in the legendary Rubadub record shop since the tender age of 14, Jack Revill has spearheaded his hometown's emergence as one of the capitals of underground bass music, co-running not one but two of the UK's most influential labels: Wireblock and Dress 2 $weat.

Between them, the imprints have plated up sick wares by the likes of Rustie, Hudson Mohawke, Rod Lee, Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990, Starkey, Emvee, Kazey & Bulldog, Lory D and DJ Deeon, piping the cream of B-more, wonky, bassline, ghettotech and UK funky direct to a ravenous audience. Recently merging to form Numbers, new flavours set to drop in 2009 include Low Limit & Lando Kal (California’s much hyped Lazer Sword) and Redinho’s debut.

Equally on point is Jackmaster's fierce rulin' party at Glasgow’s Sub Club, also called Numbers and recently voted second best club night in the world by Mixmag. In the past six years it's played host to heavy duty guests like Feadz, Radioclit, Kode9, Autechre, Squarepusher, Dopplereffekt, Ghostface Killah, The Bug and Modeselektor, who cited Jackmaster as their favourite DJ and flew him over to play with them in Paris.

Check his white-hot mixtapes for Lower End Spasm, Vice, Sinden’s Kiss FM show, The Wire and FACT for a flavour of what to expect...a wallshaking blend taking in techno, electro, garage, booty, dubstep and all points in between. We shouldn’t even need to tell you not to doze on this...

Club Pony's Up & Atom whipped up an awesome set for us earlier in the year, and have kindly agreed to repeat the feat this time round. They'll be bringing some fine electro/techno bizniz to get the floor nice and warm. And the RD rezzies will, as ever be lining up to open and shut proceedings with a selection of jackin' house, baile funk / tropical, disco and whatever else happens to fall out of our record bags.

See you in the pit...

RDx

***STOP PRESS***

Mad Decent's Toy Selectah will also be joining us on the night!!! Ridin' in from from Mexico, Toy Hernandez was the driving force behind hip-hop crew Control Machete. Packing a smoking blend of cumbia, reggaeton and his own "Mex-More" styled party bangers, he'll be bringing the tropical sizzle to fire up the Harley floor. You can get your hands on some of his re-rubs of the likes of Chromeo, Lil Wayne and Santogold here, for FREE courtesy of the Mad Decent blog.

Biggest Rough Disko line-up to date....can't believe we've got Jackmaster DJing AND Toy Selectah over from Mexico (only date outside London) AND Up & Atom from Club Pony and it's still only 3 quid (or free 10pm - 11pm!!).

Here's some Youtube videos of our guests:

Tomorrow (Friday) is the jump-off for this one....according to FACT Magazine, Jackmaster is 'probably the best DJ in the UK' - never mind that we've also got Toy Selectah (from Diplo's Mad Decent label) over from Mexico to play a rare UK set, plus Club Pony's Up & Atom....Sheffield get ready!!!

Would recommend getting down early for this one (obviously if this is before 11 then you won't have to pay!)...set times should be as follows:

10-11: RD rezzies

11-12: Up & Atom

12-1.30: Toy Selectah

1.30-3ish: Jackmaster
