SYorksDeano
Firefighters have criticised the actions of a man who needed to be rescued after climbing 40 feet up Sheffield’s Big Wheel on Fargate. The man scaled the attraction at around 4am on Saturday but called for help after realising he couldn’t get back down. Around 15 firefighters, two fire engines, an Aerial Ladder Platform, the Technical Rescue Unit and an Incident Support Unit were called to the scene. It took crews over an hour to safely rescue the man, in his 30s. Police and paramedics were also called to the scene.
centurionduc
If he'd asked nicely they might've just let him on for free.

Gothic_Angel
Over an hour? I'd have just switched it on and taken less than five minutes. I understand the temptation though. I've been on it and did think it looked like a great climbing frame
dosxuk
Wondered what all that was all about while on my home from work... looks like we just missed the fun, all we got to see was the fire brigade struggling to unthread their ladder truck from all the christmas lights.
