lychap Posted November 17, 2009 Share Posted November 17, 2009 My sugar tongs (fiddle pattern I think) are marked with a small 'c' in a circular cartouche - JD&S in gothic and in seperate shields/cartouches and trumpet & banner. There are no EP or EPNS marks or any other marks. As the trumpet is present it is post 1879 I believe, so when did it become law to mark silverplate with EP or similar? and could they be sheffield plate?
