I still have the "Ladybird book of bedtime Rhymes".

I used to read it every night to my son when he was little.

Unforunately it is a bit dog-eared now, but I wouldnt sell it anyway.

It still brings a smile to my face.

Our favourite poem was this:

Daddy Fell into the Pond

Everyone grumbled. The sky was grey.

We had nothing to do and nothing to say.

We were nearing the end of a dismal day,

And then there seemed to be nothing beyond,

Then

Daddy fell into the pond!

And everyone's face grew merry and bright,

And Timothy danced for sheer delight.

"Give me the camera, quick, oh quick!

He's crawling out of the duckweed!" Click!

Then the gardener suddenly slapped his knee,

And doubled up, shaking silently,

And the ducks all quacked as if they were daft,

And it sounded as if the old drake laughed.

Oh, there wasn't a thing that didn't respond

When

Daddy Fell into the pond!

are they the early ones ladyacademic? if they are in good condition with spines in tact etc they are fetching really good prices on ebay, have you looked.....obviously you may have collected them for yourself so dont want to sell them

I love the 606d series and have a few myself

Some saved, some collected, but I woudn't DREAM of selling them. Most kids' books today have twee, silly pictures of modern characters. I grew up with dreams and imagination because of the lush loveliness of the books I grew up with, shared them with my own children and will do so with grandchildren.

thats nice

yeah my grandkids love em too, especially three pigs, goldilocks, red riding hood, the classics

the pictures are so beautifully illustrated, Eric Winter was a brilliant artist :)

I was just going to say how lovely the pictures were. Do they still sell them today ?
