ballie
can anyone remember how old you had to be to see an "X" rated film in the early 60s, I know a "U" certificate was for any age and an "A" was if you were accompanied by an adult, but what age did you have to be to see an "X" rated film on your own. Joto
Well around 1960 I tried to see an X rated film and you had to be 16, I went with a friend. My friend was only 15 and they were going to let her in but not me, and I was 16!

chrishall
It used to be 16. I remember going to see a French X rated film in the early 60s in the Wicker with my mate, we were both 14 at the time. Trying to look adult I was really embarrassed when the woman in the ticket booth recognised me, smiled, and gave us our tickets. Instead of steamy sex scenes we got a load of subtitles, what a let down.
