jomarch
What a thread! This is a novel in itself, I'm sure it will fly off the shelves. I never realised there was so much going on in that place...!

glyn75
I lived 2 or 3 flats away from that when it happened!! I remember my neighbours, a lovely old Jamaican couple, knocking furiously at my door to wake me up (been on the pop the night before so slept through it all!!) The wife dragged me out of my flat in my nightie with nothing on my feet and we all ran to the end of Kelvin Walk and onto the grass at the end until the police and fire brigade said it was safe to go back in. I still miss the old place and have hundreds of photos, including ones of the demolition, that one day I will get round to scanning and putting somewhere. i can remember them being empty fo demolition when i first came to sheffield i would like to see what the flats looked like in there hay day i know of there existence but know nothing about them.
