nightrider
You said ROSPA disagree that cyclists with poor lighting feature in a low percentage of accidents. Your link says nothing of the kind. Here's what ROSPA have said on the question of accidents: A much used statistic in Road Safety in that driver error is a factor in 95% of road accidents, whether by failing to notice a hazard, not reacting in time,. either of those could be caused by cyclists not being visible at night....so not enough detail to tell the real cause here. spindrift
either of those could be caused by cyclists not being visible at night....so not enough detail to tell the real cause here. Nope, unlit cyclists are involved in hardly any accidents: A tiny proportion of accidents involving cyclists are caused by riders jumping red lights or stop signs, or failing to wear high-visibility clothing and use lights, a government-commissioned study has discovered. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/dec/15/cycling-bike-accidents-study With adult cyclists, police found the driver solely responsible in about 60%-75% of all cases, and riders solely at fault 17%-25% of the time. Kidorry
Thanks to the snow the ninjas are back but the current crop are all pedestrians wandering down the road instead of the pavements. Please do yourself a favour and wear something light and / or reflective if you insist on taking your life in you hands. I would love to walk on the pavements but you motorists have thrown all the snow on them when you dug out your cars.
Jason Bourne
I would love to walk on the pavements but you motorists have thrown all the snow on them when you dug out your cars. I'd love to walk on the pavements but they're all littered with abandoned motor vehicles. x
Vague_Boy
You know who you are, dark clothes, no reflectives and no lights. You are the ninjas who will die when a vehicle rolls over you in the darkness of the night. Please take care and help yourself. Have a care. We Ninja pedestrians are easily riled. Using Kuji-kiri we can invoke the spirits of our ancestors, channel the vital chakra energy of our bodies and give your precious penis extension a good kicking if you cross us. To us the motorist is the rappa ("ruffian"), a being without honour.
