harvey19
If you are having problems tracing your family history try using the "Sheffield records on line" website. It is free and the staff are most helpfull and knowledgeable. They helped solve a problem for me in minutes that I had spent ages researching. It is superb. Tuppie
You could also try. http://www.sheffieldindexers.com loads of parish records, school admissions, directories and a transcription of City Rd burials from 1881 to 1946.They are now transcribing Burngreave burial registers. OR http://www.sheffieldfhs.org.uk Tuppie

Grannypat You could try Freebmd and http://www.familysearch.org. The beauty of Sheffield records on line is that you pose a question and others will try to help you using their experience and access to census records etc. Phil. grannypat
Thanks Gracie and Harvey 19, As soon as we get this holiday over I shall really get down to it. I have made a note of all these sites (some of them I already knew but not all) and hopefully it will be full steam ahead. There will be no holding me now. Thanks for your help. Happy New Year Grannypat
