BigJezLad Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I see there's been an interesting policy change announced on Junleague website and that is that for next season the league will follow F.A recommendations to move to 9 a side for under 11's. I can see this proving problematic logistically, take my lad for example as he would be that age and his team this season will have around 18 players to choose from to play two 7 a side games. So will they have to ditch around 6 players, or find another 4 in time for next season. Also, where are 9 a side pitches to be found? This is one that seems a good idea in principle, but one that doesn't appear to have been thought through properly and one that may have been better being introduced the season after to give clubs time to prepare for it. Sorry I should have made that clear, it is for the 2012/13 season which arguably is next season as 2011/12 is this season and 2010/11 last. Either way it is for 2012/13 and I'm interested as to how this will be implemented, will they go for one 9 a side game per team or 2 games. The former means teams ditching around 6 players and the latter means finding another 4 which as you can see from all the adverts on here could prove difficult.
