watchcoll
These teens do this every day. Cars are always pulling up at the side of the alley and I suspect they are dealing drugs. I have never bothered reporting it before as like you said little action would be taken. Its has been going on for about a year now and enough is enough when you can not even have your windows open in the summer. I heard a few years ago they was going to increase police on foot in the area but I have never seen any since. The area is turning into Beirut. I have lived their 10 years and can not believe how much it has changed sounds like a job for your local safer neighbourhood team, have you got in touch with them? a lot of people slag them off but they can be quite effective from my experience. especially as what you are describing seems to be an ongoing issue rather than a one off event. mikebatty
Isn't this a way of making you pay for non- emergency calls ?
Itrytoplease
Any phone call to the emergency services other than 999 are charged and always have been.
Isabelle
I thought it was just because it is easier to remember the number? Although the Sheffield number (2 20 20 20) is quite easy to remember anyway.
cgksheff
101 calls are fixed at 15p which is a way of saving costs to callers. 111 calls are free.

cgksheff
Please see Itrytoplease and, my bt phone bill Please scan your bill and post. Take it up with your provider if you are being wrongly charged. My provider only charges me the correct amount. http://www.police.uk/101 http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/Emergencyandurgentcareservices/Pages/NHS-111.aspx Edited April 27, 2013 by cgksheff
Resident
I had reason to call 101 the other day when a tree had fallen nearby blocking a road. It seems 101 falls under my inclusive minutes
Jeffrey Shaw
Either way, both are good ideas; and they might stop timewasters clogging-up the 999 emergencies line.
