We kick off a brand new fresh year with a DJ and Producer who’s not so brand new on the scene, but certainly very fresh. Launching his brand new album, RIVA STARR debuts at Shuffle for the first event of the year.

Also known as Madox, Mr Starr has been on the dance scene for years (and indeed rocked this very room at Plug many years ago at Urban Gorilla) It’s in the last 12 months that things have really taken off when his trademark sounds have begun to get noticed by the likes of Erol Alkan and crew. It’s all about the jackin wonky tech house grooves he churns out, remixes and original tracks for Claude VonStoke’s Dirtybird, Jesse Rose’s Frontroom Recordings, and Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried labels have propelled him into the dance music spot light in recent months.

His DJ sets are something to admire as well. Mashing up latin, disco and funk elements with tech house and driving bass the energy doesn’t let up for a second, and will no doubt leave the Plug dancefloor wanting much, much more.

It’s only a short album launch tour so we’re very proud to be able to say he’s joining us for a date – do not miss this, it’s going to be the perfect start to a great year at Shuffle!

Over in the Live room it’s FLOORFILLERS bringing its Saturday night magic into the venue for more weekend escapism.

Chris Bibby having played at some of the UK's major nights drops in his unflinching acumen to ensure the floors are whipped into a frenzy throughout the evening.

At Shuffle he will be dropping the biggest dance anthems selected from the best years of your life, mashed up to the bangers of now:

Dizzee meets Pendulum, Deadmau5 rubs up to David Guetta, whilst Calvin breaks down into Faithless, Darude and the Prodigy.

He's presented specialist radio shows across the airwaves, interviewed the stars and took on the finest of international dj's and now he comes back to play every week in the best city in the land, Sheffield.

Been waiting and waiting for this one to come round since it was confirmed. Seriously hot stuff..... Riva Starr has to be one of the hottest producers from 2009. Wicked DJ too if the live recordings I've heard are anything to go by.

Rest of January looks immense at Shuffle too..... cracking start to the decade! :hihi:
