New Friday night programme confirmed for 2010

 

The Leadmill is very pleased to announce an exciting new programme for Friday's at the venue in 2010.

 

The back room at The Leadmill looks set to become the place to be every Friday with some of Sheffield's finest acts and promoters will be hosting the back room each week on rotation.

 

Cirque du Funk

 

First Friday of every month - 8/1, 5/2, 5/3

 

Cirque Du Funk was created in February 2004 to offer a different kind of night, with old and new school funk with djs playing alongside top musicians. Many top DJs and musicians have played to the Cirque Du Funk crowd including Norman Jay MBE (Good Times Sound System), Pete Simpson (Vocals, Sunburst Band, Mark Rae) and Sean Ward (Bass, Simply Red).

Rob Gordon presents Trash 'n' Ready

 

Second Friday of every month - 15/1, 12/2, 12/3

 

Reggae, Ragga, Ska, Dub & Studio Rokerz mixed by Rob Gordon and a variety of special guests.

 

Rob Gordon cut his teeth in the local FON studio working with Mark Brydon as FON Force, and also engineering, editing and producing artists such as Krush, Age Of Chance and Pop Will Eat Itself.

 

His time came in 1989 when he helped found Warp Records, through which he released his debut release as Forgemasters. Through his A&R and production work, he influenced the sound of the label for its first few releases.

 

Robs current activities include running record label'Trash & Ready Records', as well as running his own Mastering/Production/Mixing facility; and has recently been involved with many artists including Jenny Romeo, Kid Acne, Toddla T, Bromheads Jacket, I-Monster, Roots Manuva amongst others.

Mixed in Sheffield presents Industrial by Nature

 

Third Friday of every month - 22/1, 19/2, 19/3

 

Industrial by Nature is the latest project from Liam O'Shea the man behind Mixed in Sheffield. Showcasing a selection of Sheffield's hottest bands remixed by the city's brightest electronic lights. Celbrating Sheffield music and playing everything from cutting edge new music to some of the finest heritage acts the city has produced. Liam will be joined each month by a guest DJ or live act.
