Lostrider
A picture of an unused Gaumont Cinema Ticket. Dont know how old this is or anything about the film. I'll look it up on the IMDB. Song Of Norway
Lostrider
Just looked it up and it sounds like a right bundle of laughs.
mikeG
As the prices are shown in 'old' money and 'new', I'd guess the age to be in the year following Feb 15th, 1971.
Lostrider
That makes sense, as the film was released in 1970. it would take a year to get to Sheffield :-) It was a flop apparently, probably why the ticket was unused.
peterw
15 shillings! How prices have escalated! Top price was the balcony at 2s.3d. (240 to the pound) 1s.9d. back stalls. Cannot recall the price of the front stall, probably because in those early wartime years you were nobody if you couldn’t treat a lass to at the very least the back stalls. redshadow
Took a girl called Theresa to the Gaumont once.... I stress "once" because unusually I ended up watching the film as it was a good one, from memory. She wasn't impressed, I suppose and so she dumped me... Lostrider
My old mum took me to the Gaumont to see "All Quite on the Western Front" I must have been around 8 or 9 years old. Needless to say, it had a profound affect on me. Which is probably why she took me to see it. All quiet on the Western Front (1930 film)
