Sergeant Buzfuz

We are very pleased to welcome back to Sheffield the very excellent Sergeant Buzfuz. As well as running the London based Blang! night and label, they also find the time to produce a stunning and unpigeonholeable brew of folk, psychedelia and pop, augmented with literate and intelligent lyrics. Not to be missed. You can hear their most recent album, 'High Slang', on Spotify. It is rather good- listen to High Slang on Spotify

“Buzfuz are a bloody riot” ( Plan B )

“Absolutely brilliant” (Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music)

String-haunted modern urban angst, like Nick Cave on the doleto paraphrase Art Brut: Sergeant Buzfuz - TOP OF THE POPS! (SoundsXP.com)

Pisco Sour Hour

Awkward, twisted, wonky, poppy tunes covering important ground such as the Wikipedia glossary of wrestling terms, the pros and cons of tracking down an old school yard crush in Eastern Europe, terrifying altercations with representatives of the spirit world and more. Playing a few tunes off our forthcoming disc.

The Great Escape Artists

New kids on the Sheffield block, with common lineage with some of Pisco in the long defunct Buzzbomb. Supertight, boisterous seventies tinged rifferama and glam racket.

The Grapes, Fri 15th Jan, £3.50 on the door
