Robber Uses Woman's Burkha As Disguise

A cross-dressing robber has breached security at a jewellers by wearing a burkha and a hijab - before raiding the store with a trio of other masked men.

Staff at Capri Jewellers in Bury had buzzed the man into the shop after mistaking him for a woman.

The criminal used the full-length garment, favoured by some Muslim women, along with the face veil showing only his eyes, to hide his identity.

As soon as the door was open the rest of the gang - all wearing balaclavas and one brandishing a shotgun - barged in.

That means we'll have to ban black people, or at least tug at their face to see if it comes off everytime you see one.

I only noticed the story and thought I would post it on the first available "niqab" thread I could find. I will not engage in this particular discussion due to my family experiences of this, which would just make my blood boil.

However, I will point out that your links are irrelevant due to the nature of the crimes. The use of the niqabs in these types of robberies have been used to create trust. To gain entry. To make the shopkeepers think they were opening the door to a woman.

In your examples; Was Conrad Zdzierak's crimes more easily facilitated by appearing to be a black man? Did the men involved in the heist at Graff jewellers think that by disguising themselves as, well, err men, the crime could be better facilitated? No, of course not. The disguises were used because they thought it would help them evade capture.

Of course a niqab can be used as a disguise, as can a false moustache, mask, balaclava, or motorcycle helmet. But only one of those will help a criminal gain entry to a jewellery store, whilst the others are more likely make the staff suspicious. Indeed, even a small woman wearing a helmet would certainly be asked to remove it, whilst a large bloke in a niqab can gain entry. Basically this particular uniform has too much respect associated with it.

The burkhas serve a purpose..a lot of the English females who convert simply because they are desperate for any man certainly need hiding away:D

Misogynistic as well as stupid. Nice!
