sheff290
Picking up my 9 weeks old Red male Chow at the weekend, i cant wait. Does anyone know any good Vets who have experience dealing with Chow Chows? I've heard some vets instantly put Chows under anesthetic when tending to basic procedures. Chows don't cope well under anesthetic, so for that reason i would like to register him with a Veterinary that understands this breed more than most. Also pet insurance! Can anyone recommend? Thanx i have frenchies and bordeaux dogs which can be funny with anesthetics i would recomend chapelhouse vets in chesterfield they are experienced with these breeds and chris mann is a country known vet people travel for miles away to see him, with a specialist breed you need a specialist vet hope that helps

SUE89
Peak vets are fabulous, greyhounds too are reknowned for being bad under anaesthetic but all mine have been fine there. I would recommend them to anyone, as for Spires vets, avoid it in my opinion, speaking from past experience:(
BigTeeOwls
Picking the pup up sometime tomorrow, i cant wait! Going with Peak vets, been told Spires is cheaper but Peak is closer and the added 24/7 in case of emergency service has swayed it. Spent over 200 quid this week on dog crate/bed/brushes/shampoo/lead n collar/food/puppy pads/toys/mats just wanted to have everything in place for the little chow. Expect pics in the next few days. The Nurses was very welcoming and took to Yogi straight away, plus the Vet was very informative regarding diet, worming, general well being.
