They would destroy anybody in the blink of an eye if they thought it was the best thing for them. And what they think is the best thing for them is not easy to understand by any reasonable criteria. “We’ll return Syria to the Stone Age by crippling its power stations, ports, fuel storage and every bit of strategic infrastructure if Hezbollah dare to launch ballistic missiles against us,” said an Israeli minister, who was speaking off-the-record, last week, according to the Sunday Times. At least one prominent Israeli academic has issued warning that if it wanted to Israel could wipe out Western cities. They have submarines carrying cruise missiles with nuclear warheads. On the contrary if it were a state run by lunatics surely they would have used the nuclear weapons they have,given the fact that they are accused of murdering Palestines indiscriminately why haven't they just nuked them and got rid once and for all ? If you understood what happens when a nuclear device is detonated, even a low yield one, then you would understand why Israel would not use them in close proximity to its own territory. They are not really that much different to the North Koreans. They're cornered into a small territory with enemies all around them. They're paranoid. And they're armed to the teeth. In fact in some ways they're more dangerous than N. Korea because they have demonstrated a very low threshold for using force, including the use of banned weapons against civilian populations. The tragedy is of course that most Israelis are just ordinary moderate people, as despairing of the actions of their government as we are about the actions of our government in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are not really that much different to the North Koreans. They're cornered into a small territory with enemies all around them. They're paranoid. And they're armed to the teeth. If Iran gets a nuclear bomb, it's entirely feasible the Israelis would detonate a nuclear device in a Western city and leave an evidence trail pointing to Tehran.
