spindrift
The NBPA is open to all in policing on application and there is no bar to membership based on colour. http://www.nationalbpa.com/ The end.

Is this a very recent change then? because last time i checked 'white' people couldn't be full members...they could only support it as "associate members". DaveG437
I was a member of the BPA from 2004 to 2007 and I'm white. In fact, I don't remember them ever asking what my ethnicity was.
flamingjimmy
Is this a very recent change then? because last time i checked 'white' people couldn't be full members...they could only support it as "associate members". "Full members must be able to satisfy our constitutional definition of ‘black’. Contrary to popular believe this does not mean you must be must be black as commonly understood, but rather have the ‘common experience and determination’ of people who are, because it is they that are typically far more likely historically and currently, to be on the receiving end of racism. Indeed we have a number of white full members, one of whom is currently an MBPA Executive Committee member." source So there is no bar to membership based on the colour of someones skin, therefore it is not a racist organisation. Simples.
