joelhistory
And all this from someone who saw this thread and joined the forum JUST to pass comment! You must REALLY love this restaurant. Yes I do, after what they did for my fiance and me, not charging for the late cancellation and moving things about to allow us to have our reception there, it's the least I could do. If you would like the cynical edge taken off you PM me and I will prove that I am a genuine customer, not a stooge.
CaptainChaos
Well I'm not a stooge, but I am a qualified chef, and self confessed foodie/steak addict. This place impressed me so much, I actually reccomended it to a friend who now reccomends it to his. Unfortunately Neeeeek has had a bad experience, but in a thread of this length to find only one or two negatives is testament enough for most. I'd be brave and give it another go. the falcon
Me and my partner decided to give the London Club a try last night. Had a table booked for 8pm, we arrived early which was not a problem and taken to our table. The waitress was very pleasant and very attractive, we placed our order and were given some nice breads, the starters followed a little too quickly after the breads but was not too much of a problem. I had the bacon and egg starter which was excellent, highly recommended. We both had sirloin steaks for mains I thought mine was very good but my partner said hers was a little chewy. We then had desserts which we ordered with a different waitress, we also asked for two coffees which never arrived. With drinks our bill came to £72. Good food, reasonable prices, just needs a little attention to the service but I would go again. when we went it was london club and london prices and a shortage of a lot of standard things ,

joelhistory
When was that and what was missing? Punctuation and capitalisation it would seem.

PeteM01
We visited again for a pre-theatre protein boost and were relieved to find that the food was as good as ever - three excellent steaks. The service was very efficient, despite there being a wedding party on the premises. The only problem was that they forgot to add our two glasses of wine to the bill! Moosey
Thanks for that review, Neeeeek. I was contemplating organising a foodie meet there very shortly - I won't be bothering now. My take is, if you're going to specialise in one area - make sure you get it right! I think that's a bit rushed to be fair. That's one bad review amongst many, many good ones. I think you'll be harded pushed to find any restaurant on earth that only has good reviews, and never makes any mistakes. I'd go on averages myself. And I definitely don't work there! joelhistory
The only problem was that they forgot to add our two glasses of wine to the bill! Result!! I bet you were gutted! Our rebooked wedding meal there is on the 22nd! As long as the food there is as good as ever, I will happily pick up the cost of those wines! Strange, but I am looking forward to the food almost as much as the wedding!!
Kthebean
Without wanting to sound cretinous, if you go for the 5 – 7 pre theatre menu do you have to arrive before seven or leave before seven? So if we went at 6.30 and left at 8 can you still have that menu?
