First houses on Shortbrook started being built in 1969 and expand outwards to Eastcroft, Pedley, etc. How do I know, because I used to live Halfway, Parish of Eckington, Derbyshire as it was then. A village of about 100 houses surrounded by green fields and not a sea of brick of 1000's of homes, with a pub called Halfway House which was knocked down in 1972 and also local shops. Guest
My aunt's property, on Halfway Drive, was approx 1976. Halfway Drive was 1975, the school at the top Halfway Junior School, the first pupils attended in September 1975. When they were building Halfway Drive they used explosives to blow out the rocks, it also shattered some local windows

My Aunt's youngest, (born 74) was approx 2 years old (had definitely not rached 3) when they moved into that property, from their 10th floor flat on Norfolk Park, which was how I made my calculation about what year it was.
