MK Ultra
Interesting reading on point 1, page 1 "The development shall begin no later than 3 years from the date of this decision" Was that in the Hammerson contract? Doesnt look like it was. http://publicaccess.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/files/AF00743E5ABD19C3A4C76D11DAA86811/pdf/12_03759_FUL--670119.pdf It was 5 years from the decision date (November 2006) - so it's still lapsed. Edit: Sorry, ignore that. That was for a demolition of a building. There doesn't seem to be any time limit on the main development as CS said. Good job really I suppose. Jonny5
http://m.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/news/business/city-centre-slips-out-of-the-top-50-1-5800136 An appalling reflection on how SCC have handled the city centre over the last decade or two. You can blame the recession/Tories/Meadowhall all you like but for the 4th/5th largest city in the country to not be in the top 50 for retail? Well, its embarrassing isn't it? It is, but not at all surprising. Most Sheffielders are tight by nature, so they lead you to believe on here, so it doesn't come as a surprise that this city doesn't have any decent quality shops and is only dotted with cheap shops. You can't really use that as an excuse though: don't forget we're supposed to have one of the wealthiest constituencies in the country, so it's hard to see them being quite so tight. Mind you, it's also hard to see them going to Sheffield city centre to shop...

MJbayley
Hammerson are just not interested, no doubt more deadlines will be issued, which will yet again be dropped when reached http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/business/sheffield-retail-quarter-progress-hope-1-5841871
Jonny5
As we’ve said before, we’d rather do it with Hammerson but we won’t wait foreverJust how inept and weak is this man and this council? Really does beggar belief.
Clown Shoes
Im pretty sure that there will be a positive well timed decision soon. There's an election next year. SCC will look like heroes. Saviors of Sheffield.
