The retail quarter project by the council has been shambolic, there is no other way to discribe it.the council are absolutely clueless! They have failed to nail this project from day one. Our town centre is that shambolic that we have empty shops everywhere and filling them with student paintings and other displays is not helping the city centre economy. I would not blame john lewis if they moved to meadowhall, who would blame them.

And blaming meadowhall, when Leeds and Manchester both have large shopping complex out of their town centre, yet still have a fantastic city centre retail offer, is wearing thin

The council should apologise for there lack of urgency and disastrous planning. If it wasnt for the university doing up old buildings ie old post office and building new buildings it might look worse.

The council have failed with the market, still haven't attracted a developer for the retail quarter, if they have, were is the master plan?

I drive to Donny which is a town and there city centre offering puts Sheffield to shame

How can a town have a city centre ,do you mean town centre

Now let's hope the council stand back and let the developer develop. What Queensberry wont want is those council muppets thinking because they are development 'partners' they need to have equal input. The council have proved they are inept at successful commercial property development both with Sevenstone to date and with the new markets.
