Anyone but England.

Recommended Posts

I've thourougly enjoyed the last 10 minutes spent reading this thread, I know its wrong to laugh at stupid people like the OP but there you go.

1. You can't be racist against a county

2. The shirt is clearly not racist in any way, even if you could be racist against England

3. The makers have laughed all the way to the bank thanks to the publicity the outraged morons have given it

4. Have a world cup game / discussion without mentioning 1966 or Bobby Moore and maybe these t-shirts would not need to be made

I know everyone thinks it Scottish jelousy - but most of us know our team is a bit pants, most of us either would support England, or just not care rather than support ABE. ABE is just a bit of an old joke. What annoys us (well me) is that when your team scrape through qualifying the media then proclaim the England are now favourite and are the team to beat. When they're not. A bit of humility and this thread, or issue, would not exist.

All said better here... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8733373.stm

I particulary liked...

The majority of people like to see England lose - and ideally on penalties or as the result of some obvious injustice.

Joking of course :-)

Replace the word England with practicaly any other nationality and there would be uproar. Why is it ok t be racist towards the English?

To be honest, if other nations, races whatever didn't have such inferiority complexes like this, then how would we know what a great nation it is we have the honour to live in.

Remember the words of Cecil Rhodes, the founder of the nation that Robert Mugabe is now raping to extinction.

Every day you should Rise and Thank God that you had the honour to be born an Englishman.

It is only since the advent of Thatcher that we have been mentally degraded.

Once a people are convinced they are scum, they behave like scum.

No Government since is convincing the people they are otherwise.

The longer we wait for a leader the more degraded we become, by the influx of strange customs and even stranger peoples.

Im not answering your question as its not relevant. Im not talking about football teams at club level or infact any level. Im talking about the blatent racism the English have to endure day in and day out whilst all the time being labeled racists themselves. The message in the t-shirt has nothing to do with sport, its a racist dig at the English.

:)

Fantasy victimhood. Why are you so keen to believe that you're victimised? Does having a sense of grievance give you some kind of psychological payback?

It reminds me of kids aged around 8: "It's not fair, every other kid gets to watch 18 films/play on the Xbox for 10 hours a day/has a tv in their room/gets to stay up late etc."

Not that its racist to not want any particular country to win, but if it is then isn't it just as racist that you'd want England to win on the basis that your from here?

We have a pop at the Scotts all the time about the state of their national team so I don't see anything wrong in them having a prod back. All that T shirt is saying to me is that if England win the Scotts will never hear the last of it hence 'anyone but England'.

This isnt racist, its friendly banter between 2 rival football mad countries.

Good luck to them.
