RosyRat
Sheffield Oratorio Chorus are performing Beethoven's Mass in D at the Cathedral on Saturday 27 March 2010 at 7:30 p.m. with the South Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. Soloists : * Sally Harrison Soprano * Juliette Pochin mezzo-soprano * Michael Bracegirdle Tenor * Paul Reeves bass This is an extremely challenging work to perform, which is why this is a rare opportunity. It was last performed in Sheffield 14 years ago, by the Oratorio Chorus. For those who don't know it, it's a glorious, rousing, emotional outpouring of the most superb music and singing. Not to be missed. It's wonderful and exhausting to sing and stunning to listen to. It's not that long either, so we'll probably go straight through without the usual 20 minute interval, but 5 mins or so for those who need a quick break. Tickets: Tickets £16 (conc. £13) Students and under 16 £5 BOOK ONLINE from the Chorus website : http://www.oratorio.org.uk OR on the door, OR from: Calow Classics, 721 Abbeydale Rd Sheffield, S7 2BE 0114 255 3440; OR The Blue Moon Café, 2 St James Row, Sheffield Tel 0114 2763443; Order by post at choir website
