Lotti
Lotti....I'm crying again now...flipping heck...! Lovely poem tho! Put some more up! xx Glad you liked it I don't write many because I really have to be in the mood (and they're always sad for some reason!) Here's another I wrote - a long while ago. Why Do I Love You? You stole, you barked, you dug the floor You stole my food, then begged for more You pushed me as far as you thought I’d go And then pretended I never said ‘No’ You scratched the walls, and ate the door You stole my things and thought I never saw You chased bikes and joggers through the park And when I said ‘quiet’ you’d just bark. You were so difficult, such a pain And they say dogs are easy to train But tell me one thing, I need to know Why do I miss you so?? You were my friend, you loved me true And I don’t know where I am without you You would settle down with your head on my knee And for five minutes we’d live in harmony. See now, I'm in the position where I'll soon be losing one of my dogs and these poems mean even more to me now!! (Although I should point out that my dogs are not as badly behaved as the dogs in the poems!)
Lotti
Knitbird that's really lovely - your Great Aunt Margaret was not only a very clever, literate lady but obviously also very kind hearted
katkin
Some great stuff on this thread. I used to write 'pomes' but seldom have time these days. My 'CATS' poem is featured on this youtube effort I had to put together for my eComms course a couple of years ago Shame they disabled the background track (Love Cats by the Cure) still, you can always hum it as you watch... can't believe over 96,500 views of Alfie the barmy bengal openinh a packet of biscuits!
