Well it's justifiable defamation, and wouldn't land you in trouble.

Erm.....

Calling a nazi a nazi is not defamation.

Erm....

By virtue of the fact that they are not a part of, nor aligned with, the National Socialist German Workers' Party, it's not correct. Not even the modern ultra-nationalist parties in Germany associate with the name.

Moreover, defamation most definitely *is* the communication of a statement that makes a claim that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image.

And I would echo that these posts do nothing but draw attention to the demonstration and group; the more the ill-informed rabble wave pitchforks at a group of people, the more legitimate the group's position becomes. It's what happened with the BNP - the more people spouting cr4p and spitting bile at them, the more respectable they became by remaining aloof.

If you disagree with them, ignore them. They'll be gone soon, and no one will have noticed they had ever been.

True, but if the claims are in fact true, the defamation is justified.

As to calling them Nazis, that depends on whether you take a strict definition (membership of the National Socialist Party, 33-45), or a loose one (anyone who follows the same unpleasant principles as did that party).

Justified doesn't mean you can't get into trouble; it's an extenuating circumstance rather than an exoneration....

A 'strict' definition is just the same as a definition. You certainly can't claim membership of a group of people because you share the same views as them; by that token I claim to be a Saint as I enjoy doing things for others.

St. Kungfugerbil :hihi:
