Penelopes is proud to present...

(OK). . . . http://www.myspace.com/thisisok

5 piece alt-rock band. Currently at Leeds uni, these boys are starting to cause a bit of a rumble on the music scene. Finalists in a couple of battle of the bands competitions and a number of gigs in Leeds has given them the confidence to play a tight set. Making their Sheffield debut just before Christmas, and being asked by the rozzers to turn it off at a warehouse party, they then went onto play a storming set at Soyo's Monday night live. You can hear elements of the Pixies, Sonic Youth and the Stranglers in there, but with the energy and pop sensibilities of Arcade Fire and Does It Offend You, Yeah ?...... a must see act of 2010 !!

FISH FISH. . . . .

3 ex members of Sheffields finest ska band, Bison. On stage you will see and hear 2 guitarists and a clarinet. Slightly different to what you'd expect to hear from these, but very good nonetheless.

Clever songs about being Northern and not being as ginger as the Scottish make this trio effortlessly easy to listen to. And at the end of the set, you find yourself asking, "do they have any more to play"

John Batchelor. . . . .

After running the acoustic night at the Greenroom for sometime, it is a pleasure to have the Batchelor play at Penelopes. A funny man who likes to play his own songs as well as the odd cover version sung in only the way he can..... the perfect way to open a gig.
