eyretile
It was indeed a drinks supplier to the pub trade. My parents used them around 20 years ago for their pub. The name of the company was McKennings.

thecliffe
Medlock Drive had the Working mens club on the left and the wholesale delivery co on the other. At the end of Medlock drive were fileds with football pitches marked out.....they also held a Fair there once a year. This area is now a housing estate. johnparker
Directly behind this house - which no one will sell - was a football (Sports) ground belonging to Craven's Steels. This is where, as someone quite rightly says, is where the fair was held annually in August. Directly behind that sports ground was Arthur Lees Steels sports ground and directly behind that you had the Nunnery sports ground. The firsrt sports ground (Craven's) was sold off and then built the Medlock estate. Do the other two sports grounds survive?
