miami123
How much for a new car key? I have just bought a 06 Reg ford Ka, but it only came with one key... the car has central locking, and i was just wondering if anyone knew how much it would be to have a replacement key made

I have just bought a 06 Reg ford Ka, but it only came with one key... the car has central locking, and i was just wondering if anyone knew how much it would be to have a replacement key made Hi, i bought a Ford Focus a while ago with only one key. Dixon Ford wanted £75 for a replacement key plus £88 to code it. I went to H.Harrold locksmiths on Shalesmoor, they supplied, cut and coded the key for £49.99. The only difference is it doesn't have buttons on the key to operate the Central locking you have to put the key in the lock to operate the RCL. But for a massive saving i can live with that ! andrejuan
I tried to get a Honda key made at all the usual places, they told me it had to be a main dealer. Peter Brooks did it for £80 no charge for coding.

kidley
Hi miami123 Did you get any thing that looked like bar codes that came with the paper work if so that could be the techy stuff for the key, quit frankly i dont see how a locksmith can figure out the frequencies of the locking system
alchresearch
They have a key reader. Or at least the one I used did. They popped in the original key, read the code, and wrote it back to the copy.
