The incentive is massive as this year we are offering two fantastic prices- The critics choice winner will support New Young Pony Club at Let's Go Disco on May 7th, and the popular audience winner will get a day in a recording studio. HOW TO ENTER It's really easy to enter- simply grab yourself an application form from the Union Box Office, fill it in and return it to the Box Office along with a demo by the deadline of March 31st. Or you you can print off an application form from the Union website, or by following this link: http://www.shef.ac.uk/union/entertainment/bandcomp_appform10.pdf If you are providing a demo, the applications should be returned to the Union Box Office, but if you are providing a Myspace page, then applications can be returned to gigs@sheffield.ac.uk. COMP DATES AND FORMAT There will be 3 heats in the Raynor Lounge with 4 bands appearing on each of the following dates: April 13th 2010 April 14th 2010 April 17th 2010 5 bands will qualify from the heats for the final in Foundry. These will be made up of the 3 winners and runner up as voted by the audience and also a critics choice winner selected by an expert panel of judges. The final will take place on the following date: April 29th 2010 2 out of 5 bands will win the top prizes- 1 voted by the audience, and 1 by the expert panel of judges. (i.e the critics.) RULES All the rules and conditions of the competition are outlined on the application form. Please read these carefully before entering. So what you waiting for?! Get your demos sorted, your applications filled in and returned to the Box Office and wait to see if your band wins a place in the Student Band Comp 2010!
