rellin
I currently live in that area, and whats been said is pretty spot on. Its a bit of a sporty joint, pre/post match pub for the football, so is just friendly banter from those types. Never seen any bother, and walked past large groups drinking there on a regular basis. There are plenty of other pubs of varying atmospheres around that area as well (if visiting locals is your thing).

fatboyslim
The Yew tree isn't chavvy at all. As already described it's a sporty pub mainly frequented by locals or pre/post match lads. It is also used a lot by families, particularly in the summer. It's a "nice" local... not too flash but also not a dump. The area is good to live in, with a good primary school, a couple of local shops, good transport links and it's on the edge of the lovely Rivelin and Loxley valleys. I recommend it
